26 Fail Passionately.

TRUE FREEDOM IS FOUND IN FAILURE.
3/2009

It seems that communism, socialism, and even democracy all have one thing in common. Then are striving to make all men equal, equal in value, equal in rights, equal in pay, equal in say... with the use of government to help ensure you can't fail, it is security. As H.L. Mencken said in his book Minority Report "Most people want security in this world, not liberty."

Security? What is security? Security is an illusion that you are safe. People spend fortunes on security. 5-star safety ratings, Security Systems, Firearms, Life Insurance. . . 5-star cars still kill people; Security systems can be and will be defeated; Insurance companies deny claims, and firearms are only as good as the person using them... even if they are the #1 crime prevention asset you will ever own. (Ask a Criminal, not a liberal.)

It seems to me that by removing the ability of someone to fail, by rules or protection or Political Correctness or Affirmative Action, you are not ensuring that they are being fairly treated, but removing the risk of failure that is guaranteed in freedom. Therein removing their freedom entirely.

It is simple really all men (women children, some monkeys, and a handful of dogs... but not cats, they think they are better than us anyway) are NOT created equally; if they were everyone would look like Barbie or Ken, live perfectly equal lives, no change, no opposition... no strength, no success, no failure, no fun and no challenges.
All Men (Same list as above, but I'll include Lions even if it is a cat.) are created with an equal opportunity to fail... or in the less cynical verse "All Men are Created with an equal opportunity to accomplish great things."
People are made great in trials and hardship. Just like a butterfly must strengthen itself by fighting the cocoon; and like the chick must fight its way out of the egg... Champions are Born in trials, or more poetically: Endured Sorrows make Champions of Men.

In this day and age when the government has started taking away what were once rights. Where the Judges who are supposed to ensure the constitution is enforced give long speeches proving they don't even know what the constitution is; and when the government takes away the right to legal ensure it governs fairly by changing the meaning of militia into worse than a four-letter word. It seems to me the only freedom we have left is the freedom to fail...

So have you exercised your right to fail today?
